The Poetry Slam is a competitive modern art of performance poetry which has gained a lot of popularity among the youth across the world as a form of self-expression. This is a competition at which poets read or recite original work. It puts a dual emphasis on writing and performance, encouraging poets to focus on what they're saying and how they're saying it. Poetry slams can feature a broad range of voices, styles, cultural traditions, and approaches to writing and performance. These performances are then judged by the members of the audience chosen by the host to act as judges for the event.
Internationally recognized Slam Poet, Lars Ruppel from Germany will present this form for art to the audience at the Urban Mela. He will be conducting workshops with school and college students both in German and English. This will be followed by his performance and the finals of the slam on Saturday, the 30th June.
The opportunity is open to German and English speaking youngsters and adults.
Make sure you register with us early enough for the Slam as well as the workshop.
The winner of the Final Slam will get to perform at the Indian Finals in Pune. All costs paid.
