In 2011, Bangalore witnessed the 11th anniversary of its traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest that was organised in association with the Indo-German Cultural Society. It has been taking place every year in October at Vivanta by Taj, MG Road (Bangalore). The renowned Reisbacher Musikanten, a famous Bavarian brass band, has from the start, been an essential part of this festival.
This year’s Indo-German Urban Mela in Bangalore gives four of the band’s members the stage to present their traditional German music. Johannes Grassl, Thomas Bauer and Hans-Peter Höpfl will play their instruments with exquisite ease, while marvelous Eva Petzenhauser will mesmerise the audience with her soulful voice. It will definitely be a delightful prelude to the Oktoberfest 2012.
