The Collegiate Theatre Festival for New German Writing is an initiative by Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan to promote contemporary German plays and campus theatre in the city. Plays will be presented by the dramatic societies of four Delhi University colleges at the Indo-German Urban Mela.

This festival aims not only to serve as a platform for contemporary German writing, but also to support the long-standing tradition of campus theatre. Teams will be encouraged to adapt German scripts into an Indian setting, making them accessible to a local audience. Mentoring the project is Delhi-based theatre director and playwright Neel Chaudhuri, who will advise the teams on all aspects of creating the plays.

The colleges that would be enacting plays at the Urban Mela are:

Kirori Mal College - Threesome with Simone

Lady Sri Ram College for Women - Sorry Dad but I have to

Sri Venkateswara College - A Few Messages to Space

Ramjas College - Norway Today
