Goethe - Institut in association with Southern Railways, Art Chennai and Travelling Lens is initiating Chennai’s first broad-based, public photographic art project. We have invited photographers with all levels of experience to participate in this 'broad based' event.
Over 370 photography enthusiasts have participated and attended the meetings and workshops held at the Goethe- Institut. Between Feb 19 and 26 over a week’s period, photographers had scoured the city documenting everyday life in Chennai. Life in any urban metropolis surges and evolves constantly. 24 hours flow like an eternity of simultaneous realities. From the vast stretches of Marina Beach to the narrow lanes of Triplicane, an ebb and flow of humanity marks the passing of the hours.
A curation jury consisting of Andreas Deffner (Germany) and Yannick Cormier (France) has selected the best images for the exhibition form over 1,100 submitted images.
The photographs are to be exhibited at the selected Thiruvanmiyur MRTS station starting from March 14th. We thank everyone involved for their enthusiastic participation and look forward to seeing you at the grand opening at 11:00 am on the 14th March.
