Explore the magical world of chemistry with BASF

Can you see a future where cars become more energy-efficient? Plastics become completely biodegradable? Concrete blocks become transparent? And, homes become more energy-friendly? If you think these questions are a part of a science-fiction movie quiz, then think again! Chemistry has already taken gigantic strides to make this and a lot more possible.

BASF, the world’s leading chemical company invites you to discover how chemistry is working to solve future challenges posed by rapid urbanization. Take a tour of the BASF pavilion that shows how chemical innovations in megatrends like Mobility, Food and Nutrition and Construction are making urban development more sustainable. See how pervious concrete replenishes ground water, plastic becomes soil-friendly, cars become lighter and farmers are able to increase yield. While you are at it, you can also pre-register and let your kids visit the BASF Kids Lab, an integral part of our pavilion. This global educational programme offers hands-on lab experience to young students and aims at generating interest in the science of chemistry. The focus is on water, a scarce natural resource and students through simple, fun-filled experiments will learn techniques of water purification and storage, among others.

BASF creates over 8000 chemicals that enrich lives across 200 countries. Using chemistry as an enabler, BASF strives to create a more sustainable future for our next generations.

Come to the Indo-German Urban Mela and explore the world of chemistry at the BASF pavilion.
