‘’City dreams - Dream City’’ – seeks to link the youth into an awareness of the environmental issues and their concerns. Giving the young minds a scope to think and create a beautiful city “out of waste”. And their dreams and fantasies of their future will come true- as a first step at our workshop.
The workshop series from 22nd June to the 1st of July will see the building of a cityscape that culminates in an installation of the art work on the 1st of July in the Culture Pavilion at the Mela on the Palace Grounds.
About the Artists
Gaurav Juyal is a freelance animator, creative visualizer, illustrator and installation artist. He has graduated from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and Maya Academy of Advance Cinematics, Mumbai. Host of Disney channel’s “Art Attack”, he will teach our young visitors how to create a city of their dreams with the concept – ‘’City dreams -Dream City’’. And if you thought junk was, well, junk, our expert, will show our young artists how to convert this junk into beautiful city scape.
Steffi Silbermann, a Berlin based Product Designer and Artist Steffi Until 2009 studied Product Design at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee and is member of the research team “madera” in the wood science and technology department of the University of Sustainable Development Eberswalde. On the Bangalore Urban Mela she will give kids a playful insight into the use of natural and waste materials by creating a “dream city” in collaboration with Gaurav Juyal.
