Innovations from the German Mittelstand
The Economics Ministry’s pavilion displays innovations from the “German Mittelstand” and highlights solutions for the urban challenges of the future – mobility, energy and water are just a few examples. The visitor can enjoy a close-up and surprising experience of the innovations. Or perhaps you already knew that global smash hit movies are filmed using cameras developed and manufactured by the “German Mittelstand”? Examples include Bollywood films with Shah Rukh Khan and James Bond movies.
Companies of the “German Mittelstand” affect many people’s lives and work, in many different sectors. They are at the heart of the German economy and a driving force for growth and employment. They range from the self-employed skilled craftsman to industrial operations, trade and tourism, services and the professions.
